Webservices not working in vSphere Client after Upgrade to 5.1a

Hi,

I just upgraded our vCenter Server 5.0U1 to 5.1a. So far everything looks good, however there seems to be a problem with the VirtualCenter Management Webservices.

In vSphere Client, I cannot view the Hardware Status or Performance Overview of any host. When looking at the Plugin Manager, the vCenter Hardware Status and Service Status Plugin are disabled and show the following error:

The following error occured while downloading the  script plugin from
https://vcenter.domain.dom:8443/cim-ui/scr-iptConfig.xml:
The client could not send a complete  request to the server.
(The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on
a send.)

When using the vSphere Web Client, everything seems to be fine - I can view both Performance Overview and Hardware Status of the hosts. I have already checked that port 8443 is not used by another process and looked at the vws.log logfile - seems to be fine so far.

Any idea how to get the WebServices back working so they can be used with the vSphere Client?

Thanks,
Michael

Well, just did some additional searching and found that the Microsoft Hotfix mentioned in http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2031053 did solve the problem 🙂
