Hey Guys,
If I want to upgrade from vCenter 5.5U2 to vCenter 5.5U2D, do we need to reinstall vCenter or is there a way to just install a patch?

You are able to just run the install on you vCenter. You do have to run the individual installer for each component an update every component.
