I would like to build a new infrastructure using an Essential Plus Kit.
I know about total vRam entitlement, that is 192GB.
I cannot find a SURE, DEFINITIVE clarification about this :
Can I use only 2 hosts with 96GB each putting all 6 CPU licenses in Vcenter?
I looked and searched around but did not find any official document from vmware.
Thanks.
Yes you should be able to -
vRAM is pooled by vCenter Server, so you can even run all VMs (192GB vRAM) on a single host if needed. See http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere_pricing.pdf (page 3 - "vRAM Entitlements")
André
Thank you André
I did not notice that :
There are no restrictions on how vRAM is configured across virtual machines and CPUs.
AND
The vRAM entitlements of VMware vSphere processor licenses are pooled—that is, aggregated—across all CPU licenses managed by a VMware vCenter instance
I think you are correct. I also asked this simple question to vmware support. I think the answer must be YES or NO...they only reply with the well known kb and the official licensing page.
I cannot imagine why it is so difficult to answer Y/N to my question. So I asked again for a simple answer. Without links, kb, and should works.
Yes it should work
Yeah that will work,.
