Virtual Flash on ESXI

Hello,

I was looking for anyone who has configured Virtual Flash Resources in ESXi 5.5 to perhaps explain to me how they configured it and what they used for the flash memory.

For example,  did you add a solid state drive to each of your hosts?  (I have 3)

or did you add them to your disk array and share them among the hosts?

If anyone can provide me example cases and perhaps the hardware you used to do it I would greatly appreciate it.  Currently this is something we are looking into to add a bit more speed.  just looking to get a few example cases of how someone else might have done it.

I did read the how to here:
VMware KB: Setting up a Virtual Flash resource in VMware vSphere 5.5

But nothing to specific in there.

Hello Snip3r6659w,

You need to understand the components of vSphere Flash along with the requirements and limitations in order to configure vSphere Flash read cache (vFRC). This topic is very well explained by Duncan and Cormac Hogan in their blogs. Please go through the below 2 URL's:

A closer look at vSphere Flash Read Cache – vFRC | CormacHogan.com

Also in order to check the supported Partner Name/SSD disks on an ESXi host, please check the VMware HCL http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=vfrc
