Vcenter License upgrade from 4.1 to 5

Hello, my client has bought a license:

VMware Enterprise Plus Acceleration Kit for 8 processors (Includes vSphere Enterprise Plus for 8 Processors, 1 vCenter Server Standard)

He needs to upgrade vCenter license to install v5 instead of v4.1,

I can't find any "how to" or tutorial, to obtain v5 license key.

can you help me, please?

best regards,

HankaM.

is this an existing 4.1 install, and he recently purchased SnS? If so, then he needs to login to his VMware store account to "manage product licenses" in the license portal - from there, he should see his existing licenses with an option saying "upgrades are available".

If the upgrade is not available, then he should call vmware support, and they can confirm the recent purchase, and push the upgrade to the portal.

Once he has the license, then you have to follow the upgrade guide to get the new code installed while upgrading the db - at which point you can input the new license key.

Hi, Thanks for the answer,

i hope this will help him.

I thought that he can find it somewhere else, but if this option is not showing, i will tell him to contact support.

best regards,

HankaM.
