Hello
We are currently running VMware vCenter Server 5.1.0 and VMware ESXi 5.1.0 with VMware vSphere 5.1 Essentials Plus Kit license. I am thinking of moving to VMware vCenter Server 6.0 and VMware ESXi 6.0.
I have already got a host with ESXi 6.0 and I've tried to use my existing Essentials Plus Kit license on this 6.0 host but it doesn't work. Do I need to upgrade my license key? What are my options?
You must obtain new licenses to deploy VMware vSphere 6.0. Existing VMware vSphere 4.x and vSphere 5.x licenses will not work on vSphere 6.0.

Thanks for your support.
We were going through a partner for the licenses and the guy who was looking into our VMware stuff has left the company. Now I don't have access to the "My VMware account" as I do not have the credentials. Is there a way of changing the email address and the password if I have the license key with me???
Login to your MyVMware account and check if you're eligible to upgrade your 5.x licenses to the version 6. Take a look: VMware KB: How to upgrade license keys in My VMware
A product version upgrade is applicable when a new version of the same product is available. To upgrade a product to the most current version, your Support and Subscription contract must be current and active. While under contract, there is no cost associated with a version upgrade.
When a new version of a product becomes available, you will receive an alert that you are entitled to the new version of your current product. If you do not receive an alert, your Support and Subscription contract may have expired or you may not have the permissions to upgrade that license key. If your contract has expired, you can request a support contract renewal quote. For more information, see How to request a support contract renewal quote in My VMware (2006982).
I am sure there must be an easy way out, try to have a word with VMware support team.

Take their contact details depending upon your location, I think you will be able to reach upto licensing department via IVR easily.
Explain the situation, because they will ask for your customer number but i think you don't have that detail.
