VMware vShpere Essentials Kit download

I just bought the VMwarevSphere Essentials Kit, and the download link takes me to the page to download VMware vSphere 5.0.  Is there a reason I should install 5.0 instead of 5.1?

I am a newb here and just starting a project to virtualize my servers, and I want to start on the right track.  I would think I want to install the latest and greatest version available to me.

If you are just getting started, then I see no reason to not go with the latest release of 5.1. It would be worth checking to make sure your hardware is listed on the HCL for 5.1.
