VIClient 2.5 cannot connect to ESX 4 on Windows 7

Can anyone please advise if this is a known issue and if there is a fix for this?

The VIClient 2.5 cannot connect to ESX4 on any OS... you need the vSphere 4.0 client to connect to ESX4.

You will need the VI client for ESX 4

go to http:// and with some luck you'll be able to download and install it

The VI4 client supports old ESX 3.5 hosts, but not the other way round

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

Also i receive a 503 error when trying to connect to the esx host via a web browser!

I receive an error “503 Service unavailable”.

Please advise if anyone else has seen these errors and if a fix is avaliable

Web Access is disabled by default in ESX4

If you are trying to use the vSphere client then you may have alot of issues. I posted sometime ago a fix I found to work around the wonderful error message you get when using the client to access either ESX4 or vCenter 4.

Now that Windows 7 is GA I am (Like many others using Windows 7) patiently wating for an updated vSphere Client to correct this issue with the client! So...if VMware is reading the posting.... Please FIX THE CLIENT!!!!!!
