I have 2.5 U3 running on W2K3 32-bit with SQL Express
I need to "upgrade" it to VMware vCenter Server 4.1 moving to new hardware running W2K8 R2 (64-bit of course) also using SQL Express
What would be the most logical way?

are you looking to rebuild? SQL Express migration to another SQL Express migration may be a bit difficult, but if you have a good DBA, it may be easy for them.

And why it is not possible to just detach DB & attach it to the newly installed SQL Express on different machine, and then point the install to it?
