Upgrading from vSphere free to vSphere Essentials Plus

Can someone point me in the direction of how to upgrade from vSphere free to vSphere Essentials Plus? I am fairly new to vSphere in the setup process.

You just need assign the license to your host, don't need reinstall anything.

Here is how assign the license: VMware KB: Licensing ESXi 5.x and vCenter Server 5.x

ESXi host > Configuration > Licensed Features > Edit

Assign a new license key > Enter the Key > OK

Yes, same procedure.. but note that you will need a license key for version 4.x. If you have the license key to version 5.x and the host is version 4.x, you will need upgrade your host to version 5.x or downgrade your license to version 4.x.

Thank you for your help I will get it upgraded to 5 then buy the new license key.
