Upgrading ESXi 4.1 to ESXi 5.0

Hello,

I am asking some information on upgrading from ESXi 4.1 to ESXi 5.0. There are currently 16 running Hosts. How can i go ahead from here.

We have been using ESXi since 2013,

Please assist with required information.

do you have a special reason for upgrading the hosts? Both version are already out of support, so if you do have a stable 4.1 environment, why upgrade to 5.0?

If you want to upgrade anyway, here are some thoughts:

• ensure that your hardware is supported
• ensure that you can get the required binaries (ESXi, vCenter, vSphere Client, ...), and license keys for the new version
• consider firmware upgrades on your hosts, before upgrading to ESXi 5.0
