Hello Experts,

Is it possible in anyway to convert the external PSC to an embeded PSC. I am planning to upgrade from vCenter (Appliance ) version 6.5 U1 to 6.7 U3. I also understand that converge tool is avaialable for this task but it is avaiable from version 6.5 u2d and later. And, seems all the articles I read - say that external PSC cannot be converted to embeded PSC before version 6.5 u2d. Is this right?

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers.

You can upgrade to vSphere 6.7 update 3 and then do this. This is a simpler and uncomplicated method.

I remember that vSphere 6.5 Update 2 does not have such support. With the release of vSphere 6.5 Update 2d, it was announced that the Platform Services Controller (PSC) external type deployment will end.

Here are the steps I would follow...

Upgrade the PSCs to 6.7, one at a time in the SSO

Use the converge tool to change the vCenters to embedded

Use the converge tool to decommission PSCs
