First Thing First : Must read the upgrade sequence for upgrading your enviornment to vsphere 6.0 VMware KB: Update sequence for vSphere 6.0 and its compatible VMware products

So first keep concentrating on upgrading to vcenter and esxi hosts first. Once you will get updated to the latest version your standard switch will be migrated along with.

In second step you can start building the dvswitch and migrating the existing vms to the new dvportgroup  network.

VMware KB: Migrating virtual machines between vSwitch or PortGroups to vDS or dvPortgroups

& in the last. As always the best practice to upgrade is to follow the vmware docs. http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-60/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-60-upgrade...

Good luck
