Upgrade vsphere 4.1 to vsphere 5.0 Licensing issue

Hello,

I have licensing issue. Subscription with vmware end 10 months ago. Now I want to upgrade vsphere 4.1 to vsphere 5.0 (same edition). I don't have valid subscription, now. What I need to do to be compliant with licensing model? Can I buy only subscription?

If your support and subscription has expired prior to the GA date you  can choose to reinstate it later. If you do so, you will be eligible to  upgrade to VMware vSphere 5 licenses at that time.
