Upgrade vSphere client to 5.1 U1 but using vCenter/ESXi 5.1 (not U1)

So I saw this recommendation from VMware:

If you are using vSphere Client in your environment, it is recommended that you upgrade the vSphere Client to version 5.1 Update 1.

My ESXi servers are still at 5.1 (build 799733, some at build 1021289), and my vCenter server is 5.1.0 build 947673. I should be able to install this update to the vSphere client  on my workstation without issue. That is what VMware is recommending, right? That the client should be upgraded, regardless of the host version?

(I still don't think the web client (yet), so I want to continue using the vSphere client, if and when I can)

the client is backward compatible, you should be fine

Great! And it all installed correctly, and it all seems to be working just fine.
