Upgrade vCenter 6.0 to 6.7 - Global.EnableMethods unavailable to default administrator@vsphere.local

Hey folks,

I successfully upgraded my vCenter from 6.0 to 6.7.0 as a starting point to soon upgrade my ESXi boxes too.

I wanted to backup vCenter as soon as i got it working using Veeam B&R but long stun snapshot removal time greyed out some functions like Migrate, Move to Folder and Resource pools.

I remember i can use MOB in this cases to unlock VM. so i went to https://mycenter.mydom.local/mob to get vCenter MOID and then https://mycenter.mydom.local/mob/?moid=AuthorizationManager&method=enableMethods to Invoke method but i got some different page than what i am expecting

GlobalEnableMethods.jpg

These are the privileges in Global

GlobalEnableMethods_privilegies.jpg

I checked administrator user and role Administrator, the role grants for Global.EnableMethods are in place.

I also created a new Role including all options available and set this new role to another user but i did not get any benefit.

Since i don't think this could be related to ESXi not yet upgraded to 6.7, my focus is toward a vCenter behaviour.

Any tip is well appreciated

Hi @comoalt ,

Mob URL seems to be correct -->  https://vC-FQDN/mob/?moid=AuthorizationManager&method=enableMethods, however URL in the browser screenshots seems a bit different towards the end. It loads up fine for me in vC 7.0 environment.

Please try clearing browser cache, or a different browser. If you are comfortable cleaning up such entries from database, please refer following articles -->

Hope that helps

Hey man,

thanks to answer to my question. Since yesterday i tried several browsers, i initially ignored to clean browser cache and started reading the interesting links you pasted in.

Once i cleaned Firefox cache, i got it working.
Damned caches hate and love!
