Upgrade to ESXi7 with Dell M630 (VRTX)

Hello,

I've searched on the Dell Suport Site and in the VMware HCL ...

we have several Dell VRTX Systems with M630 (VRTX) Blades Intel Xeon E5-2623 v4 cpu running with ESX 6.7u3. I can not find any Information about upgrading to ESXi7. Only the M640 (VRTX) Blades are in the HCL.

The CPU is supported, also the Chassis (VRTX) with the shared PERC ... Had Dell and VMware forgotten the M630 (VRTX)? Some "normal" M630 Blades are on the support list - but I don't know if there is a big difference between them and the VRTX Blades ...

Hi,

the Blade "M630 (VRTX) Blades Intel Xeon E5-2623 v4" model is not in the matrix of compatibility with Esxi 7.0

VMware Compatibility Guide - System Search

the latest version of Esxi compatible with your system is 6.7 U3:

There was another posting about the VRTX and vSphere 7.0 this week. Yes the PERC8 is on the HCL but after upgrading there was no access to the datastores any more.

Strange thing is: The "normal" Blades are free for ESXi7 also the Rack model R630 ... I have 6 VRTX with M630 and 6 with M640 up and running.

I hope that Dell does not ditch the M630
