Upgrade from vCSA 5.5 to vCSA 6

Hi vSphere community,

Looking for a good guide for upgrading from vCSA 5.5 to vCSA 6.  Curious if there are any gotchas, especially around the vPostgres database.

I think I'd like to have one Platform Services Controller per datacenter.

Thanks!

Take a look at official documentation: About the vCenter Server Appliance 6.0 Upgrade Process

And here is a good step by step guide: http://anthonyspiteri.net/vsphere-6-0-vcenter-server-appliance-upgrading-from-5-x/

Hi Mike,

i've wrote an article on my blog, which discribes the Upgrade.

Upgrade vCenter Server Appliance 5.5 to 6.0 | gansercom

After that you can also deploy the first Update to vCSA 6.0.0b

Update vCSA 6.0.0 to vCSA 6.0.0b | gansercom

Hope you didn't migrate your vCSA from a vCenter Server for Windows installation. Then the Upgrade will fail with "vPostgres first boot error"

Upgrade vCSA 5.5 to vCSA 6.0 fails with vPostgres firstboot error | gansercom
