Upgrade from VC 2.5 to VC4

I want to upgrade from VC 2.5 to VC 4.0. The current server running VC2.5 is old so i want to load VC4.0 on a newer hardware. Whats the best process for accomplish this. I was unable to find any documents.

at a high level, you need to "use existing DB" during your install

Read the vmware upgrade documentation before upgrading. The Vcenter server and DB needs to prepared before you can start the upgrade.
