Upgrade from ESX 4.0 to ESX 4.1 with Virtual Center (Update Manager)

Hello, I am trying to upgrade a ESX host that now is running ESX 4.0 to the last ESX 4.1 version, but when I download the ESX 4.1 (first release or update 1) and attach it to the Update Manager tab in the Virtual Center 4.1.0  ... it tell to me always that It is a "partial" release that only can be upgrade a ESX 3.X version to 4.1 ... not from 4.0 ..........

Does it possible to upgrade a ESX 4.0 to 4.1 using the Update Manager ???? What release do I need to donwload????

Or ....... can I download the ESX 4.1 update 1 CD and .... reinstall over the ESX 4.0 using the "upgrade option" directly without virtual center??

Thanks a lot

Hi

First upgrade vCenter to newest version, follow instruction below

www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r41/vsp_41_upgrade_guide.pdf

Download ESX 4.1 Upgrade package called ESX 4.1 Update 1 (upgrade ZIP from ESX 4.0),  link below

http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/esx41u1/ZHcqYnRlQHBiZGhwZA==

Upload package to ESX server and run esxupdate --bundle <path to zip package) update

and done
