Upgrade Virtual Center to U1

I need to upgrade my Virtual Center to match my ESX4 U1 servers. There do not seem to be many complaints about bad Virtual Center server upgrades. Is it really as easy as running the setup and rebooting? Our envorionemnt is fully HA.

As far as I remember there is even no need to reboot vCenter server. Just a little outage on vCenter service.

HA will continue to work without vCenter.

I upgraded all the vCenter components from 4.0 to 4.0 U1 on Saturday. Everything went very smoothly.

Well that went smoothly. First thing this week. You can tell I am paranoid but it seems so many windows based updates go south so easily.

Thanks for the help.

Did you review these before upgrading to see if they apply to you?

VMware ESX & vCenter Server Alerts

ESX 4.0: If you plan to upgrade ESX 4.0 to 4.0 Update 1, it is critical to read KB article 1016070 before proceeding with the upgrade.

vCenter Server: vCenter Server: If you have ESXi hosts connected to vCenter Server 4.0, please do not upgrade vCenter Server to Update 1 before installing the patch referenced in KB article 1016262.
