Upgrade VMtools

Hi All,

My Few VMs reporting VMtools out of date, As far as i know you need to restart the machine once you upgrade or reinstall Vmtools. i have most production VMs so i cant restart without scheduling a downtime. is there anyway i can push automatic update on all of my VMs at once without restarting them ? any suggestion appreciated.

thanks

raj

What kind of OS? I have no issue with VMware Tools upgrade without restarting running on Windows/SLES/Redhat OS.

Few VM's do require the reboot....so nothing much can be done abt it.....

hmm since its windows , i blieve it will ask for a reboot when vmware tools are installed. Incase if you dont have to, you can cancel the reboot option when prompted in the end

I would suggest you to get a schedule downtime and get it done right away..it should not take more than 15-30 mins for all VM's

Yes. Just choose "NO" for twice if Windows ask for restart/reboot.
