Upgrade VI3 to vSphere4 - NT4 Guest

Hi,

I will go to upgrade a VI3 Infrastructure to vSphere4 next week and the client has a lot of NT4 Guests.

Someone already did it ? Works good ? No problem with the virtual hardware upgrade after the vmware tools upgrade ?

Hello.

I did a single NT4 P2V conversion for a customer and had no issues installing the tools or upgrading the hardware to v7. I would have felt safe doing other NT4 servers, if the client had had them.

Thanks for your collaboration.

If I understand, you did a NT4 P2V to VI3 then you upgraded VI3 to vSphere4 and upgraded vmware tools and virtual hardware without any problem ? Only 2 reboot on the NT4 guest ? No reconfiguring of any devices like network card ?
