Update vSphere 4.0 host to 4.1

Our vSphere installation contains a mixture of Dell and IBM servers. When we installed the vSphere host software on these computers we used vmware customized installs for these hosts. Now we want to upgrade our hosts to 4.1 using Vmware Update manager. However, we cant seem to locate any customized install sources for the 4.1 upgrade. There seems to be only one 4.1 upgrade file. Can we use this to upgrade our costomized 4.0 installs? I'm not even sure I care if the customized 4.0 install features are carried forward at this point. Just trying to get all our stuff up to version 4.1.

Hi,

The Upgrade of ESX from 4.0.x to ESX4.1 should carry forward all the customization. But if the customized software/3rdparty software like Hardware Management is not compatibles with ESX4.1, it may not function as expected. If you could find out the customization that is compactible for ESX4.1 then after the upgrade you can go head and apply the customization.
