This is usually due to dns-problems. The client where you run the vcenter client needs to be able to look up the ip for the esx-host.

Did you do any changes to dns?

Thanks Linjo

I will just have a look on my DNS, i will check wether my client system is able to ping dns or any changes done at DNS side.

Thanks

Hi Raju,

May be a problem with firewall, you may have not port 903 opned on you firewall. Login to virtual center server and see if you are able to open the console of virtual machine, it will confirm the firewall issue.

DNS can also be an issue.

Also make sure that ESX host and the workstation running VI Client are correctly synced to an NTP service. Also verify /var partition is not full

Most probably the firewall problem, please check if 902 903 port are opened from the esx to the VI client host.

Or ease try to restart services @ esx hosts

service mgmt-vmware restart

service vpxa-vmware restart

Things to do:

1. Check DNS entries

2. Check firewall Settings (902 & 903 Port)

3. Check whether the servers are DMZ zoned.

4. Screenshot us, what kind of error it throws.

Thanks,

Ganesh

Hi,
This is usually a DNS issue.  The system where you are running vSphere Client has to be capable to resolve the FQDN of the hosts and vCenter Server.
Check your DNS and add some entries on the "hosts" file, in order to resolve the FQDN in case of a DNS issue.

Hi Friends,

Thanks for your reply, as all you said that there should be DNS problem from the vsphere client installed, exactly it was, i checked the DNS entry of the client system and also corrected the correct Primary and Secondary DNS. Now its working perfect, amazing,

Thank you all freinds.
