Small Dilemma

Hi All

We have a small dilemma, We have 2 Data centres, VMware 5.0 version, Vcentre...  We are in the process of upgrading our hardware and VMware versions to 6.x and to down size our 2nd data centre which is used primarily  for off site replication using Veeam 9.5 

But our current WAN situation is not adequate to allow us to use the cloud for backups at present, so my question is, if we just upgraded our HQ VMware infrastructure and hardware, can we still use our 2nd data centre VMware 5.0 infrastructure to replication VMs at HQ, VMware 6.x infrastructure.   

I am unsure if we could backup 6.5 VMs using Veeam 9.5 to the 5.0 VMware data centre...

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
