Shrink esxconsole.vmdk

When performing the in place upgrade, we were not paying attention to what we were doing and inadvertently created our 'esxconsole.vmdk' the majority of the DAS of one of our ESX 4.0 servers.

We are aware of the fact that around 8 gb is what is required for this file, what we don't know is the appropriate procedure for "shrinking" this file?

I think that the only solution is do a reinstallation.

There are similar question on how move the COS vmdk to another storage, but no answers (exept reinstallation).
