Setting partition size

Hey folks,

I am trying to install vSphere and would like to resize some of the partitions as I was able to do with previous versions(I am doing fresh installs). I need two questions answered. One: is there any place that someone has posted a partition best practices for 4.0? I have not been able to find any info on recommended sizes. Maybe they are the same as 3.5? Two, how do I change partition size during the install(using the GUI)? I can obviously change three but what about the hidden partition sizes. I have been using best field practices for partition size. Thanks for your help.

I don't have an ESX4 server in front of my so i'm going off memory. You will have to double click on the highlighted area during the install and that will allow you to change the sizes and add more partitions. click on edit and new

Also, check page 59 of the ESX and vCenter Server Installation Guide

Maybe they are the same as 3.5?

Yes, the VMFS version is still the same.
