Hi Guys,
Currently I have a 5.1 environment and he database is runnong on a seperate VM .
It is set up on SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM 10.50.1600.1
The actual database is runnin in SQL Server 2005 (90) compatibility mode.
The OS is 2008 R2 SP1 Standard
I have had a look at the compatibility matrix and from what I can make out SQL Server would need to be upgraded to SP2? and 2005(90) would be fine as it is for a 5.5 upgrade?
Looking at the VMware Product Interoperability Matrixes, for vCenter 5.5 U2 you need to upgrade to at least SQL 2008 R2 SP1 (or SP2), since RTM without SP is not supported on this version:
The compatibility matrix makes no comment to the database compatibility level, but it should be fine to either leave it as-is or use the native running version.
also 2005(90) compatibility mode is not supported. you should change that to the default - 2008(10).
