Rebuild ESXi 6 hosts

I currently have 32 ESXi 6 hosts in 3 different clusters that boot from SAN.  We're making changes to our storage environment and rather than doing LUN migrations on the back end, I'd rather just boot from SD card.  I can reinstall ESX, that's not a big deal.  it's the virtual distributed switch that is killing me.  Is there an easy way to export the config (Including VDS port mappings) before I rebuild and import the config after I rebuild.  The KB article that explains how to do it specifically says it's for standard switches.

Host profile would be the right approach..

why would you need to rebuild the dVswitch? Remove the host from cluster, reinstall and re-add it.

Hi,

I had similar experience, migrated Boot from SAN to local HDD.Removed from Cluster and re-add the host to vds according to existing pNIC position.

When you plan to install the ESXi to different storage the MOID of the host will get change and no use in addition to vCenter or DVS even you maintain same network configuration.

Agree with Magneet. Remove and re-add. Benefit of vDS.
