Hi, this is driving me crazy.. I have built myselft a tower with these parts.

  • MB Asus P6T6 WS Revolution

  • 8 Gig of ram

  • 2 HD ( sata) 1 Tb

  • Del Perc6i sata controller

  • HP broadcom Netxtreme Ethernet

  • 2 sata DVD

I have installed in Raid 1 ESXi 4.1.0 . On my other pc..i have VSphere 4.1.0

I was able to installin the host DVD SBS 2008 from VSphere . Now when i try to install another OS from VSphere..i'm geting the same message:

Network boot from intel E1000

client mac addr:....

No boot filename receive

and then PXE-M0F exiting Intel PXE ROM

Operating systeme not found

What i want to know, in my broadcom card in the host, what is the correct setting ?

i have 3 choices: Remote Program Load, Bootstarp protocol,Preboot execution Environment .

also, in the boot strap type: BBS, Int18H,Int 19H, Auto detect.

Please..help !!

I understand you created a new virtual machine, but what is your goal?

Do you want to install an OS using PXE or do you want to boot from CD/DVD?

It sounds like your OS ISO is not in the virtual DVD drive or that maybe the 'connect at power on' switch is not set for the CD/DVD drive in the Guest VM.

You might try setting the Boot to BIOS on the VM -- Edit Settings | Options | Boot options. Make sure the CD/DVD drive is set as a boot device, higher in the boot order.

Verify that the CD/DVD media for SBS is good in another system.

Hi,

Make sure that your image will execute the BIOS setup during startup:

- Edit properties of your VM image, go to: Options, Advanced, Boot options, place a checkmark for: Firce BIOS Setup

Verify that your Device Status for the CD/DVD is set to Connected + Connect at Power On.

Kind regards,

R.
