No local VMFS or unshared VMFS for COS

I just updated Virtual Center from 2.5 to 4.0. Next plan of action was to update the hosts from 3.5 to 4.0. I'm at the point where I need to select a VMFS to store the vmdk for the console. Unfortunately, my hosts boot from a SAN, so I don't have any local VMFS datastores. Even more unfortunate is that we have a small amount of VMFS datastores and they are being shared between VM's. Has anybody else ran into this or can offer some suggestions to what my next action should be? Thanks.

Consider installing ESXi on flash instead of ESX on SAN.
