No IP Range Associated with any NIC

i feel like an idiot asking this question, but ive searched for hours now and im spining my wheels, every video i watch, or any documentation, at least one of the NIC cards, usually 2, have an assigned IP address range ect... not in my case, how do i set up a NIC to be configured on the network, so i can add servers and assign them static ip ect....?  I see the service console has an ip, but not the NIC, its accross from.  this is a P2V conversion and i am using Vsphere4 on ESX 4.1 Thanks for any help!

EDITED*** for anyone who sees this and is a noob like me!

I have reserved IP addresses, all i had to do was create a 1|1 static NAT from internal to the external IP, use the same class that your gateway is on, and select the source address as your static server adddress.

Yes i am a noob, but there are others out there too Smiley Happy

Observed networks depends by the network broadcast.

If your network is new without clients and servers maybe there isn't any packets yet.
