Susanta Roy.
Hello and welcome to the communities.
Note: This discussion was moved from Community Website Help to the vSphere Upgrade & Install community.
You will want to ensure that as many components as possible are listed on the VMware HCL. You might also consider using VMware Workstation, if the bare metal installation is not an option. With either approach, I would recommend more RAM as 8GB will go fast.
Good Luck!
Hi Suanta,
It seems you wnat to build a hand-made system to run VMware ESXi on it. We call it Whitebox!
You can check these websites , besides VMware official HCL, to see if your hardware is supported or not;
http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/Hardware_support.php
Check out your Motherboard, network card and graphic card first.
You should also consider to add more RAM to your system. 12GB should be a good head start.
Cheers,
NetRock,
