Moving Vcenter to a different machine and moving Update Manager

I wild like to move my current Vcenter 4.0 server to Windows 2008 X64. Update Manager is installed on the current server. I would like to put Update Manager on a seperate server. I've tested this with moving a 2.5 vcenter to Windows 2008 and it warns you that Update manager was found on the database that the new server is being pointed to but not installed.

Should I uninstall Update Manager before the move and then reinstall it on a seperate server?

Yes, that is what I would do, to me it seems cleaner. Also, remove/uninstall any plugins or clients you have related to VUM on your "old" vCenter Server.

That worked. Thanks!
