Moving ESX Host from VC2.5 to cCenter 4

Hi,

I'd like to remove my ESX hosts from my Old VirtualCenter2.5 and then add to my new vCenter 4.0 (I decided it was safer to start again rather than upgrade). Is it possible to remove the hosts from the old VC2.5 and them add then to vCenter 4.0 without shutting down the VMs and putting the host into maintenance mode?

Also 2 of our 5 hosts are SAN attached in a cluster. Can I remove these also whilst VMs are powered on and move onto the new vCenter server.

Thanks in advance,

Euan

you can do a disconnect and remove from the old instance and a add host into the new. The guests will continue to run.

....make sure you have have a license server available for your 3.5 hosts as they will still need it.
