According to the URL listed below VMware Tools prior to 4.x are not supported with ESXi 5.x. I have ran a query in PowerCLI to return a list of VM's as well as Tool version, but I cannot find any documentation that correlates the tool version to 3.x or 4.x. I have tools ranging from 6531 all to 8300. Does anyone have a way to cross reference these numbers to the version of ESX?
