Migrating vm storage from ESXi, 4.1.0 to ESXi5 datastore
Cant seem to find this informaiton anywhere so I am asking the community. If I install esx 5i on a host, which was formerly connected to 4.1 datastores can I migrate these vms to a newly provisioned 5.x datastore online?
Unless the 4.1 datastores are on an unsupported storage system which you cannot connect to ESXi 5, you can use the "Migrate" option to Storage vMotion (depending on your license and whether you have vCenter Server in place) the VM's online.
