Licensing 3.5 hosts with Vsphere licenses

Until vSphere has past testing etc and we know its compatible with all our infrastructure we cannot upgrade in the production environment. In the mean time the production enviroment will need to grow - new hosts added etc. As I understand it, it is now only possible to purchase vSphere licenses. Are these licenses compatible with the 3.5 infracstructure and can they be used until we do upgrade. Can the licenses be temporarily downgraded??

Yes you can downgrde the vSphere licenses - it is does on in the licenses portal and when you are ready you can change the licenses back to vSphere licenses -
