License Vsphere 4.0 upd2

I have a problem with my new server HP proliant DL380 G7 with 2 Core. I've installed vpshere 4.0 upd2, but i've only 1 license standard for 1 processor.  is it possible disable a core via Bios or I've to remove it in order to Vsphere work ?  Because If I try to created a VM a message appear "Expire License..." and under Configure --> License   when you check the code " ....insufficient number of per cpu package licenses..."

Thanks in advance

Carmine

The 1 CPU license = 1 Physical CPU Socket regardless of the cores ( in fact it's up to 6 for standard edition). You will either need to disable the CPU (not that i know of), or physical remove the 2nd CPU socket.

VMware is licensed by CPU, not by core.  You have to check if the server BIOS allows to disable one of the CPUs
