Kickstart File- Verify or Test?

Hi,

I could swear I read somewhere that there is a way to test or verify a kickstart file from the CLI. I have custom ks.cfg that I'm going to be changing and I want to know if all my syntax is correct- without having to package into my ISO, and then find out it doesn't work.

Can someone help me out? I swear I read it was possible! Now I can't find it when I need it!

Thanks!

I don't know about the CLI, but you can do it with the installer, just include the "dryrun" boot command. From the ESX and vCenter Server Installation Guide:

dryrun (optional)

Parses and checks the installation script. Does not perform the installation.

Thanks! That is where I ran across it. I have confirmed with support that there is no way to test or verify a ks.cfg without actually running it. That sucks, but it is what it is.
