Intel S3210SHLC MB VMWare HCL confusion?

Hi,

Can somebody help me clarify this, maybee they have tried this already.

I am looking at getting the

Intel S3210SHLC MB.

It is on the Vmware HCL.

However it says it does not support the network driver:

Intel 82566DM Gigabit NIC not supported by this release.

So from the tech specs of the motherboard it says this about the

network cards:

LAN

- One Gigabit Ethernet device (82541PI, MAC + PHY) connect to PCI interfaces

on the Intel® ICH9R

- One Gigabit Ethernet PHY (82566DM) connected to the Intel® ICH9R through

Problem is that the remaining card the:

Intel 82541PI Gigabit Ethernet Controller does not mention ESX 4 or 4i.

So my question is why would this machine be on the HCL if neither network

card is supported under ESXI 4, yet it shows up as a supported system?

(I want to know if I need to get an extra 1 network or 2 network cards

to make this work with ESXi 4).

Hopefully soembody has tried this Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Ward.

Hi Ward,

I am in the purchase process myself for the same motherboard.

Did you got any additional information about this board?

Regards,

Jeroen.
