I can't install ESX 4.1 or ESXi 4.1 on ASUS P7P55 LX

Please help !!!

I'd like to install ESX 4.1 on M/B Asus P7P55 LX.

the problem show that can't detect network adapter (as shown on attached files). i found that VMWare doesn't support realtek ethernet card (supported only boardcom & intel)

are there any custom driver that can add into the installation process. P7P55 LX use realtek 8112L chipset.

please help

thanks a lot

Just get an Intel Pro/1000 NIC that's listed on the VMware HCL and you'll have no issue. You'll want more than a single network connection in the box anyway, so better to either get a pair of cards, or a dual port NIC (or quad port, or a combination of both)...

Using a single NIC for everything is typically a very bad idea.

You will need to modify the ESX installation ISO. Full tutorial here http://engwar.com/post/392 All the best 😃

While this might solve your installation issue, I would not use a Realtec card for reliable production use. They just aren't suitable.

thanks a lot for help

i'll try it and show the result

actually this is the test server that will not use much load of the ethernet card.

it's my fault that didn't prepare well about ethernet card.

the best way is to buy new nic.

but i'll try the cheaper way first ^^"

thanks for your kindness help

i'll update the result soon ^^
