How to update vCenter 4.0 to 4.0u1

I have three ESX hosts on vSphere 4.0 and got vCenter 4.0 running as well

I manually update vSphere Client 4.0 to 4.0u1 doing manual install procedures (setup.exe)

I run Update Manager on vSphereClient to apply updates to my hosts. So the hosts run 4.0u1 as well.

But how can I update my vCenter from 4.0 to 4.0u1? Do I have to take the full package 208167 and run setup?

Run the setup and be sure to select "existing DB".

Also update the VUM and Converter server part.

Maybe my steps were wrong but now it works. I stumbled across one error that seems to be frequent:

"VMware VirtualCenter Management Webservices" won't start anymore.

Solution: http://www.vmware.com/support/vsphere4/doc/vsp_vc40_u1_rel_notes.html - use a valid path to a jvm.dll (not path, filename ist required)
