How to keep virtual systems (vmfs) during ESX 4.0 re-installation?

Dear,

I need to re-install my stand-alone ESX 4.0 but I want to keep all virtual systems (vmfs) without destroy, how can I do? This is a stand-alone ESX server without connecting to any SAN, and all virtual systems are hosted in local disk.

However during the re-installation of ESX 4.0, the option of "keep all vmfs...." is grey color and can not be chosen. If I continue, all virtual systems hosted in this machine will be destroied, so tha I have to stop.

Anyone can help me to find out a solution to keep virtual systems during ESX 4.0 re-installation?

can you post the screen shot here. it is so weird that you can't see the keep vmfs and vms intact option ( i mean not as active).
