How to Upgrade Vsphere esx 4.1 to esxi 5.0 ?

Hello

I'm looking for the best way to upgrade 2 HP servers ML585, currently those servers are running with ESX 4.1 and the goal is to install ESXi 5.0. Both servers are set as a cluster and both are working using less than 50% of resoursources (CPU and Memory).

What would be the best practice to do this update?

There are different ways to do that...Findout, which is comfortable to you and proceed.

1. Update manager

I would say to go with update manager.

Migrate all vm's to other host. Put the host in maintenance mode.then upgrade.

P.S VC and VUM should be upgraded first
