How to Update vCentre Server

Good Morning

On a clean install I've patched three ESX hosts to U1 (build 208167), but how do I patch vCentre Server, which remains on 162856?

BTW it's running on a Win2k8 VM.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

You download the complete vcenter install (1,5GB zip or 1,8GB iso) and starts the installer on your win2k8 vcenter server. The installer

will update all required files.

You can also use VMware Update Manager to update vCenter -

You can? This is completely new to me. How do you do that? And when update manager is updating vCenter it will also update "Update Manager" itself to the newest version?

Remember to specify that you have an existing DB: only in this way the installation will do a upgrade.
