HPE SPP before VMware 6.5 > 6.7

Hey all,

I'm planning on upgrading VMware 6.5 to 6.7 which I'm running on two HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 ESXi's.

As a part of the process I'd also like to upgrade the HPE's SPP. Should I do this before upgrading the vCenter?

I'm thinking first SPP, then vCenter and lastly the ESXi's - right?

thanks

Hi,

Yes, right. First update the Service Pack for Proliant (SPP), then vCenter and finally Esxi.

I've already done this type of update.

Sounds like the right order to me.

As a moderator, I'm moving your thread to the dedicated vSphere Upgrade & Install area.

Hi 1stLuna,

The upgrade path that you have planned is absolutely correct.

SPP>Vcenter>Esxi

Note: please take necessary config backup, snapshots or backup before prceeding.
