!!! HELP !!!! ADD NIC´s in a laptop

Hi experts!!

Currently I have an ESXi 5.5 running in a couple of laptops. All is working fine. I need for lab purpose to run  Vmotion, Iscsi., cluster... and I don´t want to use only the build network card. So I thinking about to add another network card for my laptop. a Lenovo T430. The only way I found is to use the express card expansion slot  and to add this kind of card below:

http://www.amazon.es/StarTech-com-Tarjeta-Adaptadora-ExpressCard-Ethernet/dp/B005584TZE/ref=sr_1_2?i...

Someone knows if this kind of card will be recognize from Esxi in the boot process? , in fact this card is

Realtek RTL8111E   , or maybe ESXi recognice the card but not the express card expansion slot , I don´t know....   :smileyplain: a   or have a solution for expand a laptop with more NIC´s using the expresscard expansion?

Thank a lot for any help as always

cheers

Jesus

Hi ,

Do the laptops not have USB ports? Can you not use one of these?

The bandwidth with a USB 2.0 adapter would be inadequate.

thanks both, my I am running ESXi from the scracth ,not via VMware workstation... Will the ESXi recognize this "usb card" what about the drivers...

The bandwidth initially is not a problem,  if the ESXi recognize it. I just I need it  to have more nic´s to training my self..

what do you think ?
