Installing a new vSphere 5.1 Essentials package - just purahased yesterday. I have my ESXi 5.1 installed I created a Windows 2008 R2 server to act as my DC and another 2008 R2 that I'm installing vSphere 5.1 on - I'm logged in as an Administrator for the domain that is also part of the local server's admin group.
The SSO install goes fine - all is well there. However when I install the Inventory service I get a 29113 "Wront input - either a command line argument is wrong..." error. Searching around out here I see a lot of stuff about certificates being expired but I don't see the corresponding error messages in the log the KB articles are talking about and those posts were for SSO issues anyway.
It's a compltely clean (updated and registered with MS - synched with the external us.ntp.pool on all servers and my ESXi so shouldn't be anything about clock synching issues - having it install a fresh SQL 2008 instance for this).
I tried both the simple install and doing it seperately but I get the same error message each time... it wont let me open a support case yet for some reason (you have to buy the year long support contract with the essentials kit) so I'm trying here.
Something silly I'm missing? I can't see anything I'm missing here... this should be pretty straight forward.
Wandering around in the log file it looks like maybe it is related to SSO somehow -

not sure what to make of the "VMRegisterWithSSO" call there - the install of SSO went fine but I don't know how to validate/verify that - guess I'll have to figure out how to open a case with support as this isn't going anywhere fast...
